Fresh from the garden and sprinkled with a little coarse salt and freshly ground pepper—is there anything better? I don’t think so! This is how Grandpa always ate his tomatoes, too—no doubt I learned it from him. The garden has not been growing as well as I’d like this year, probably thanks to our odd weather, but we’re getting enough to eat straight from the sunny beds, and that leaves me content enough.
