As I mentioned Wednesday, it is Memorial Day weekend here in the States. For some reason—the long weekend, no doubt—it is also considered the official beginning of summer, and thousands of people are heading out for a weekend of camping. That being the case, I wanted to share with you these quick pictures I took of a cute vintage canned ham RV at a classic car show a couple of years ago. The owners were very friendly, and so enamoured of my vintage look and excited response to their RV that they invited me to pop in and take a few pictures.
I could be wrong, but believe this is a 1963 Yellowstone (if I’m wrong, please let me know). This gal was so excited to be offered a tour she didn’t get the year from the owners!
The nifty ceiling, if I recall what I was told correctly, was from the Studebaker company’s office ceiling. Since they went belly-up not too long after the war ended, that doesn’t surprise me. And smart re-use!
We’ve been in the market for a vintage camper ourselves, and Yellowstones are near the top of our brand list. For whatever reason, I’ve begun referring to these small vintage campers as cupcakes—hence my jam-packed “Cupcake Behind The V8” Pinterest inspiration/dreaming/shopping board.
It doesn’t have to be in gleaming, perfect aluminum like this one, of course, but I don’t suppose that would hurt!
Neither would an old Stude to tow it with. 😉
Have a wonderful weekend!
