Monday Escape: Fountain Fishes

I spent part of Friday afternoon updating the description for this photo of the Lancaster fountain here in Ohio, and it got me to thinking about some of the other fountains I’ve photographed. Ohio actually has quite a few beauties, but one of my favourites is this one from (I believe—this is from ’07!) that sits somewhere along Route 22.

Fountain Fish

Unfortunately, I couldn’t pin down the location—this fountain stands in front of a courthouse, though it’s always possible it has been removed (ugh)—or any other information. However, the similarity of these dolphins to those on the Lancaster Fountain makes me think they’re of a similar age.

Regarding the first fountain, the interesting movement lent to the fish by their sculptor is quite lovely.

It’s a shame I can’t recall where it is, as I’d love to go shoot it again with something other than the pocket camera I had with me at the time. Alas, all I can recall is that it’s on Route 22 in Ohio somewhere between Wilmington and Lancaster. If you recognize this fishy fountain, though, I’d love to be reminded of its home.

Have a great Monday!

  1. Nothing screams summer day like a fountain. We have one in the common area of our condo complex. I love crafting with the window open and just listening to the trickling sound
